The Busanga Plains is perhaps one of the most spectacular areas of the Kafue National Park. With sprawling wetlands and a distant horizon, broken up by intermittent ‘islands’ of palm groves, acacias, figs, even papyrus-choked river beds, you are bound to see something spectacular. The wetland ecosystem covers 720km², and hosts an abundance of wildlife; from the birds to the sable, roan and wildebeest to the lions, cheetah and elephants.
Our Busanga Plains Camp is situated comfortably in the shade of the palms and a glorious fig tree on one of the ‘islands’, overlooking a popular waterhole where the local fauna saunter around while having a drink. If you are itching for a better view there is no place better than our raised viewing platform tucked into the branches of the fig tree. On ground level you can almost float on the horizon with our infinity pool, drink in hand.

At Busanga Plains Camp we have the star bed on a 4 metre high platform, outfitted with a flushing toilet and basin just below, and handheld radios as well as lights for your safety and comfort.
