Mukambi Safari Lodge, where it all began. Famously known as “The Gateway to the Kafue National Park”, the lodge is perched on the banks of the vast Kafue River with its iconic thatched silhouette. From here, a short boat ride will place you across the river and into one of the largest national parks in Africa. Encompassed by the Zambian bush, we are no strangers to the usual lions, leopards, elephants, white-tailed mongoose nor jackals strolling through the camp. You may even catch a glimpse of our local wildcat ‘Mauw’ scuttling about the reception! Our sprawling thatch layout connects the reception, bar, comfortable seating areas (with views of the river from the lower and upper-deck and a kindling fire in the winter months) all the way to the dining deck and pizza oven. On a warm day, you may choose to relax by our crystalline pool, with a near-panoramic view overlooking the river, while sipping on a cold drink. Activities such as game drives, boat cruises or walking safaris can keep you entertained, or perhaps a massage may suit your fancy better, in the comfort of your own accommodation.
A fully kitted centrally
located bar to cater to
your refreshment
needs.
All accommodation offered at the lodge is on a full board basis. We have a 3 choice set menu while meeting all dietary requirements.
We provide Wi-fi in the common areas of the lodge and dining decks.
Take a dip in our shimmering infinity pool overlooking the Kafue river.
Nestled amongst the treeline, you can spot our four luxury safari tents. Perhaps the most serene of our accommodation, you are cradled by the trees overlooking the river. Each tent is outfitted with a private outdoor bath, where you may bathe under the sprawling African night sky, or perhaps you prefer a spacious shower indoors, with our line of delightfully scented bath amenities. The comfort does not end when it comes to the king-size beds, decked with crisp cotton bedding and stylishly draped mosquito nets.
